Canada Credit Repair -
Your online Resource.
Living with a low credit rating does not always mean that you
are financially irresponsible. There are instances where your
good records are not shown in the file, and worse than this,
there may be events in which late payments you truly did not
make will be added to the credit history you would receive. So,
if you have been paying your debts on time but your credit
report tells a different story, you need to learn how to repair
your credit.
The first step you should do is to make a written claim that
contains the errors you found in your report. Remember to
provide a clear description of every error and a valid reason
why you think each item is incorrect. Include copies of billing
and payment statements as part of your claim. Next, submit the
written claim to a credit bureau. Ideally, you have to send the
document to the bureau from which you got your report. For
instance, if you live in a province in Canada, you should mail
your letter to the Canadian credit agency that sent your file.
In addition, the best way of submitting your complaint to the
bureau is through regular mail. This ensures that you have
legitimate proof that you indeed requested for this service.
Moving on, once the credit bureau has accepted your complaint,
it will give a specific waiting period, which usually consists
of 30 days. During this stage, the bureau will process your
claim, verify the incorrect data, and make the necessary
changes. Upon completing its task, it will contact you and
informed you about the corrections it has performed. However, if
the bureau goes beyond the specified period of time, you have
the right to make an appeal for the inaccurate data to be
dropped from your file. |
